Volunteers for the Racecourse Community School Fundraising Initiative in Zambia
Ringthon Mumba
School Head Teacher and Board Member
Ringthon Mumba was one of the founders of the Racecourse Community School in 1999. He serves as the Head Teacher (Principal) and a Board Member as well as teaching at the school. He serves on the Racecourse Community Executive Committee as well as many other boards and committees in the community. Ringthon hopes to enroll in a distance education program to complete a teachers training program.
Rev. Dennis Sikazwe
School Board Chairperson and Fundraising Liason
Rev. Dennis Sikazwe has been the school board chairperson since he began his employment at the United Church of Zambia Theological College (UCZTC) replacing the previous chairperson Rev. Colin Johnston who has moved to another country. He serves as a liaison between the Racecourse School Board and the Fundraising Initiative in Canada.

Heather MacKenzie, M.A.
Project Manager
Heather MacKenzie is from Edmonton, Alberta and was one of the founding members of the Racecourse Community School Fundraising Initiative in 2004. Heather traveled to Racecourse in 2004, 2006 and 2009. Heather is the primary liaison between the Racecourse Community School and St. Paul’s United Church in Edmonton. She has an M.A. in International Development Studies and completed a thesis on the topic of foreign involvement in the Zambian Community School Movement.
Catriona Richmond
Coordinator
Catriona Richmond is originally from Didsbury, Alberta and has been involved in the fundraising initiative since 2006. Catriona is a nursing student at the University of Alberta. She traveled to the school in 2006 and has been heavily involved in Canada with raising funds and awareness about the Racecourse School. Catriona serves as the liaison between Knox United Church in Didsbury, Alberta and the Racecourse School. Catriona also coordinates presentations about the school in the Edmonton area and manages the annual fundraising dinners.
Mike Wilson is originally from Red Deer, Alberta and has been involved in the fundraising initiative since 2006. Mike is an industrial design student at the University of Alberta. He travelled to the school in 2006 and has been heavily involved in Canada with raising funds and awareness about the Racecourse School. Mike serves as the liaison between Sunnybrook United Church in Red Deer, Alberta and the Racecourse School. Mike also manages the fundraising website and yearly calendar design and sales.
Ian MacKenzie M.S.W., R.S.W., B.A.
Director
Ian MacKenzie is originally from Edmonton, Alberta and has been involved in the fundraising initiative since its inception in 2004. Ian is a registered social worker in the province of Alberta and runs a private family therapy business. He traveled to the school in 2006 and has been heavily involved in Canada with raising funds and awareness about the Racecourse School. Ian serves as a liaison between St. Paul’s United Church in Edmonton, Alberta and the Racecourse School and manages the funds which come through our office and St. Paul’s United Church.
